~Plant vegetables now for late season harvest.
~Freshen tired flower beds with larger sizes of annuals for a fresh burst of color.
~Pay attention to watering if your area has been dry. We've been getting a lot of rain, but some areas have not. Make sure you water deeply and well on a regular basis.
~Bugs and pests are often at their peak right now. Use products like Liquid Fence and Snake Away to keep them at bay.
~Bindweed, thistles and other invasive weeds are also at their peak. Use products like Weed Free Zone to keep them under control. Weed Free Zone works especially well on bindweed- even in cooler temperatures.
~Share the harvest from your summer garden with neighbors and friends. I swear that one zucchini plant could feed and entire neighborhood!
~Don't forget the fertilizer. Plants need to eat just as people do, and if you planted about a month ago and haven't fertilized since, then your plants are probably beginning to look hungry. Use a good, all-purpose fertilizer like our Four Seasons blend for best results.
~If you are having problems with blossom end rot on your tomatoes, try our Grow Good fertilizer.
~Use Captain Jacks, Neem Oil or other organically based products to treat infestations of pests on your edible plants.
~Remember that gardening is a family activity. It's productive. It's engaging. And it can be fun. Enjoy your summer gardening adventure and be as passionate about it as we are! |
